Verge tree planting preparation

The City will be planting trees along verges, in parks and gardens, and other natural areas across the City starting from Monday 5 October 2026.

Tree planting is expected to be completed in 4–6 weeks.

Each verge tree placement will be pre-marked by City staff, using marking spray to assist the contractors who are facilitating planting. Residents are advised that spray marking of the verge trees will take place from Friday 25 September 2026.

Scheduled tree watering will run from October 2026 to late-April 2027. Each tree will receive 30 litres of water per week and we request that residents refrain from watering their verge tree during this time.
