Book in to our Book Week party

The City of South Perth’s much-loved Book Week party is back. Whether your child is a bookworm or brimming with main character energy, our morning of crafts, activities, stories and celebrating books and reading will have something to amuse and entertain them.   

Door prizes, face painting, and a fancy dress parade are just some of the fantastic activities available at Manning Community Hall on Saturday 15 August from 10am – 12pm.   

This year’s theme is ‘Symphony of Stories’ and the City of South Perth’s event is open to all ages, which should be music to parents’ and caregivers’ ears.  

Children’s Book Week 2026 runs from Saturday 22 August to Friday 28 August. This year marks the 80thanniversary of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA), which began Book Week to encourage children to develop a love of books and reading.  

This event is free but bookings are essential. Book your spot now and let the adventure begin.
