Donate to the Dignity Drive campaign this August

Residents can help tackle period poverty by donating unopened sanitary products as part of a national ‘Dignity Drive’ campaign being run during August. 

The City of South Perth is proud to support the campaign to raise awareness of menstrual inequity by providing a dedicated collection box at the City’s George Burnett Lesiure Centre in Manning Road, Karawara, making it easy for visitors to contribute while using the Centre. 

The initiative supports the City’s Access and Inclusion Plan 2022-2027, which aims to foster a community that is accessible and inclusive for all, and is one of a number of donation drives the City runs throughout the year. 

Access to period products such as pads and tampons should never be a barrier to education, work or everyday life. Yet for many, these essential items remain out of reach, forcing difficult choices between period products and other everyday necessities. 

The Dignity Drive, which runs form 1-31 August, also includes official collection points at Woolworths supermarkets and participating businesses across the country. All donated products are distributed to people experiencing hardship through community support organisations. 

Every donation, no matter how small, can help restore dignity, reduce hardship and ensure that no one has to go without essential period products.
