Partnership puts children’s safety centre stage

Helping children build the confidence and skills to stay safe is at the heart of the City's partnership with the Constable Care Foundation. 

As part of the agreement, the Constable Care team will deliver three interactive puppet shows each year alongside Lost Child Points at our major community events including New Year's Eve, Australia Day and Carols at Sunset  

Far more than entertainment, the puppet shows use humour, storytelling and memorable characters to teach children important life skills in a fun and engaging way. Through age-appropriate performances, young audiences will learn about topics such as bike safety, making safe choices, recognising hazards and knowing how to respond in an emergency.  

The partnership supports the City's Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan by continuing to raise community safety awareness among young people. Schools can also book tailored Constable Care performances to reinforce key safety messages in the classroom. 

Residents aged 15 to 25  are also encouraged to take advantage of the Constable Care Foundation's free City After Dark tours.The guided evening walks through Perth CBD, Northbridge and Fremantle are led by a WA Police Officer and Constable Care facilitator, helping participants develop practical street-smart skills and the confidence to make safer decisions when out at night.
