Collier Park redevelopment breaks ground
The $19.8 million transformation of Collier Park Golf Course is moving closer to reality, with development teeing off with a sod-turning ceremony on Thursday 19 March.
Jointly funded by the City of South Perth and Clublinks, the project will upgrade the site into a community-focused recreation and leisure hub, featuring a new restaurant and café, a state-of-the-art double-storey driving range, padel tennis courts, an all abilities playground and dedicated function rooms catering for a range of corporate & private events and celebrations.
City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said the start of works marked an exciting milestone for the local community and golf enthusiasts alike.
“This redevelopment will enable Collier Park to become a true community hub, where quality golfing experiences sit alongside dining, leisure and entertainment,” Mayor Milner said.
“We’re thrilled to be at the point where construction can begin. Our aim is to create an exceptional venue that caters to everyone, while carefully preserving the beautiful natural environment.”
Clublinks CEO Anthony Lawrence said this particular redevelopment redefined what a public golf facility could be.
“Collier Park has always been a special place, and this redevelopment will make it even more welcoming and community‑minded. You’ll be able to come down for a hit of golf, try the driving range, play padel, let the kids enjoy inclusive play spaces, or simply meet up for coffee or a meal — all in one location,” he said.
“The best part is that it remains a public venue: accessible, friendly and open to everyone, while also creating more ways for new players to discover golf and fall in love with the game.”
Importantly, the existing 27-hole golf course and 18-hole mini golf course will continue operating throughout construction, so visitors can enjoy their usual activities while works are underway.
BADGE Constructions have been awarded the tender for the project as the Main Contractor. Construction is officially underway with the main buildings, restaurant, driving range and padel courts to be complete by February 2027. Demolition of the existing buildings and a car park extension are due to be complete by the end of May 2027.
