New shade umbrellas in Manning Laneway

Manning Laneway is now even more comfortable and inviting, with the installation of two new shade umbrellas. 

The umbrellas were installed in time for the Manning Laneway Festival and are located between Bradshaw and Conochie Crescents (location indicated below), providing additional shade for visitors. 

The project was initiated by the Manning Town Team, a community organisation committed to creating positive change in Manning, and funded by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety as part of the 2025 Local Government Election Commitments. The City of South Perth facilitated the works. 

The umbrellas were well used at the fourth Manning Laneway Festival, held on Sunday 8 March. Hosted by Manning Town Team and supported by the City of South Perth through a $20,000 Precinct Activation Grant, the free event was a celebration of local community connection, music, food and fun. 

The shade umbrellas will be a permanent feature of the Manning Laneway, a vibrant community space connecting Welwyn Avenue shops with the Manning Library and Hub.
