Step into culture at the Old Mill Cultural Hub

News Update 3 March 2026

The City of South Perth invites you to connect with culture, history and place at a special Cultural Experience at the Old Mill Cultural Hub on Saturday 28 March.

This free and immersive experience offers a powerful Noongar perspective on the colonial past, set against the backdrop of one of South Perth’s most significant heritage sites.

Enhancements to the Old Mill Site draw on its rich history, with new interpretive signage acknowledging First Nations and European history and providing deeper insight into the heritage of the Old Mill and its grounds. The Cultural Hub also features six indigenous window decals inspired by powerful artwork designs by local artist Fiona Reidy that further recognise the site’s cultural significance.

Across two one-hour sessions (9.30–10.30am and 11.30am–12.30pm), participants will be guided through the Cultural Hub and surrounding landscape, gaining deeper insight into the cultural significance of the area.

This is a unique opportunity to hear stories passed down through generations, engage in hands-on cultural activities and experience the Old Mill through a First Nations lens.

Places are limited and registrations are essential. Two identical sessions are available:
