New pedestrian crossing for Anstey Street
It will soon be safer and easier to cross Anstey Street in South Perth, with a new pedestrian zebra crossing to be installed at the intersection of Anstey and Angelo Streets.
This project responds to community feedback seeking improved pedestrian facilities. It is being delivered in collaboration with Main Roads Western Australia, with input from local retailers to enhance alfresco areas.
These upgrades, which also include improvements to access ramps, drainage and kerbing, will improve safety and accessibility for all road users, with a strong focus on pedestrian movement through the precinct.
The installation works will be carried out at night to cause minimal disruption to residents, businesses and road users. The details are as follows:
Location: Intersection of Anstey Street and Angelo Street, South Perth (see map below)
Date: Week commencing Monday, 9 March 2026
Duration: Approximately three weeks, weather permitting
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 7pm to 5:30am (works may not occur every night)
The pedestrian crossing is one of several improvements the City is making to the Anstey and Angelo Street intersection, including the installation of two new streetlights and landscaping.
Local residents and businesses will be notified by letter, with updates available on the City’s website.
