Mahjong clubs at South Perth Library

Looking to sharpen your mahjong skills or return to the game in a friendly, social setting? 

South Perth Library hosts weekly, self-run mahjong clubs with no bookings required. Experienced players are happy to help those with rusty skills, while beginners are asked to attend classes first. 

Mahjong is a traditional tile game that combines strategy, memory and a little luck. Players build matching sets and score points, making it both mentally engaging and highly social. 

Mahjong Western Style meets Mondays, 12:30–3pm, offering a relaxed environment to learn how to play and score. Mahjong Hong Kong Style (Red Dragon) starts Wednesday 4 February 2026, 10am–1pm, and explores classic rules, etiquette and culture. 

Water, tea and coffee provided—please BYO mug or bottle.
