Kaya Karawara arrives with action-packed events
Summer is kicking off with a burst of energy as we launch Kaya Karawara – a brand-new youth program designed to bring young people aged 12-18 together for fun, creativity and connection.
This action-packed series of events, workshops and relaxed meet-ups is all about trying new things, spending time with friends and making the most of the warm weather. All events are free to attend and will be held within the George Burnett Precinct in Karawara.
Kaya Karawara will start with two action-packed workshops at the Manning Bike Track and Manning Skate Park on 11 and 18 December 2025. The first workshop will involve use of both sites to facilitate an informal and supportive coaching session run by Freestyle Now. Participants can sharpen their skills in BMX riding, scooters, rollerskating or skateboarding, with experienced coaches on hand to help build confidence, learn new tricks and pick up useful skatepark tips. Groups are arranged by skill level, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the day.
The second workshop will focus on use of the Manning Bike Track with a Bike Jam event, where young riders can show off their best moves, take part in friendly challenges and even score prizes. This is your chance to vie for best trick or show off an impressive new move.
And this is just the beginning. Kaya Karawara will roll out even more activities next year, from arts and crafts to cooking, chill meet-ups and the return of the popular Summer Splash event. Keep an eye out for updates as the full program comes to life.
