Challenger Reserve Masterplan

News Update 13 October 2025
The City of South Perth will hold a drop-in session on Monday 20 October 2025 where residents can provide input into a draft Masterplan for Challenger Reserve in Manning.

The session will be held at the Manning Bowling Club from 6pm to 7.30pm. Residents will have the opportunity to speak with the project team, ask questions and provide feedback.

The City is planning future enhancements at Challenger Reserve following a Council decision in May 2025 to prepare a revised Masterplan for the site. It proposes ways to improve the site’s functionality, accessibility and recreational use, and aims to support both current users and future needs of the growing community.

Challenger Reserve is currently home to lawn bowls, tennis, football/soccer and cricket clubs and is also used by residents for informal recreation.

The draft Masterplan, which will be considered by Council in December 2025, will comprise conceptual designs of a proposed new multi-purpose building with shared and exclusive spaces, community spaces, provision for bridge club activities, and enhancements to the existing tennis facilities.
