Extra collection day added to Verge Valet™ service

From 30 September 2025, the City’s Verge Valet™ bulk waste and green waste collections will be available on Tuesdays as well as Thursdays.  

With over 700 Thursday collections already booked, the City is excited to see even more residents take advantage of the new Tuesday service.  

Bookings can be made online up to eight weeks in advance, with collections running between 7am and 4pm. 

Verge Valet™ is designed for items that can’t be reused, rehomed or recycled. Before booking, consider using the services that are available at the City’s Recycling Centre: 

• Donate quality items to the Reuse Shop.
• Drop eligible containers at the Drop & Go refund point. 
• Donate into Good Sammy charity bins for clothing and textiles. 

Please also check accepted items online before booking Verge Valet™. Each collection can be up to 3 cubic metres in volume (3m x 1m x 1m). Anything larger than that won’t be collected and waste left out without a booking will be considered illegal dumping.  

Verge Valet™ is a pre-booked, year-round service that has replaced the City’s fixed-date verge collections, giving residents access to two green waste and one bulk waste collection per year.
