Mobile Foodbank service now open weekly at Southcare
Eligible residents in the City of South Perth now have more opportunities to access low-cost nutrient rich food locally with a Mobile Foodbank service now operating at Southcare in Manning every Monday from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
This new weekly service provides free seasonal fruit, vegetables and bread; and low-cost grocery staples such as pasta, rice, cereals, frozen meats and ready meals, as well as essential personal care and cleaning items.
The service is designed to support individuals and families experiencing hardship by making nutritious food and essential products more accessible and affordable. Located in the secure carpark area at 54 Bickley Crescent, Manning, the Mobile Foodbank operates on a ‘first-come, first-served' basis. Please note, the service does not operate on public holidays. A valid Foodbank referral is required to access the service, which can be arranged through contacting Southcare’s Community Support team.
This service aligns with broader efforts by the City, in collaboration with the State Government, neighbouring local governments, and service providers, to address food insecurity in the local community.
