City welcomes Liz Ledger as CEO
The City of South Perth is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Ledger as the new Chief Executive Officer, following a unanimous decision at the Special Council Meeting held on 12 August 2025.
Ms Ledger brings a wealth of community, leadership and local government experience, having held a number of senior positions, including most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer at the Town of Claremont over the past eight years.
City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said Ms Ledger’s proven leadership, strategic mindset and dedication to community outcomes made her the standout choice to lead the City.
“Council was unanimous in appointing Liz Ledger as CEO. She’s demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong commitment to continuous improvement, and an ability to deliver social and financial benefits to the community,” he said.
“Ms Ledger will play a pivotal role in guiding the City’s strategic direction and building on our vision for a vibrant, financially sustainable and connected City.”
Ms Ledger said she was honoured to take on the role and excited to work closely with Council, employees and the community.
“It’s a privilege to join the City of South Perth and be part of shaping its future,” Ms Ledger said. “I actually worked at the City nearly 20 years ago, so returning now as CEO feels like coming full circle,” she added.
“I look forward to working with Council and our community to continue improving services, fostering innovation and building on the City’s strengths for the benefit of the residents, visitors and local businesses.”
Matthew Scott, who commenced as Acting Chief Executive Officer in July 2025, will remain in the role until Ms Ledger officially starts as CEO on 1 December 2025.
