Bollard lights vandalised at Sir James Mitchell Park

News Update 14 July 2025
Maintenance Works South Perth Foreshore
Bollard lights along the footpath in Sir James Mitchell Park - between the Boatshed Café and the Scented

Gardens carpark - are currently not operational due to vandalism. At least 23 out of the 37 lights have been damaged.

A police report has been lodged, and the matter is under investigation.

As some electrical cables have been exposed, the affected bollard lights have been isolated and switched off to ensure public safety while the City makes arrangements repairs or replacements.

Given the extent of the damage, replacement parts would ordinarily take 10-12 weeks; however, the City is currently exploring options to restore lighting sooner.

Please take care when using the foreshore path in low-light conditions. Further updates will be available on the City’s website.

Anyone with information on the vandalism is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers.
