Autumn green waste collection kicks off soon
Our next green waste verge collection will take place from 28 April to 2 June 2025, starting in Como Beach.
To help keep our streets tidy, please don’t place green waste on your verge any earlier than one week ahead of your collection date.
Visit the verge collection page to find your collection date and more details.
What we will collect
Each property can place up to three cubic metres of uncontaminated garden waste on the verge for collection. This includes tree prunings and branches up to 1.5 metres long.
What we won’t collect
- Lawn clippings and leaves (place these in your green lid bin)
- General junk, household or building waste
- Tree trunks/stumps larger than 150mm in diameter or 1.5m in length
- Dug out lawn
- Green waste that is contaminated by household rubbish
- Plastic bags and boxes of leaves, weeds, soil and lawn clippings.
Ensure your waste is collected
- Place no more than 3 cubic metres of green waste neatly on the verge before 7am on your collection day (but no earlier than one week before)
- Keep it clear of obstacles such as trees, power poles, power boxes, water meters, reticulation, walls, street signs and footpaths
- Do not obstruct footpaths or driveways, parked cars, kerbside bins or the line of sight for pedestrians and road users
- Keep your green waste neat and ensure it does not spill onto the road
- Vacant lots, commercial properties, reserves and parks are not included in the collection.
Missed the collection? If you miss your scheduled pickup, you can dispose of your waste at the City of South Perth Recycling Centre on Thelma Street, Como.
