Update: Our newer, brighter uplighting at the Old Mill has been installed.
The City of South Perth is glowing with Christmas spirit, with the installation of uplighting of trees at various city locations, including the Waterford entrance, Welwyn Avenue and the Old Mill.
Residents may have noticed the uplighting at the Old Mill has replaced the traditional festoon lighting, which was no longer safe or suitable to install due to the growth of the pine tree.
As the new uplighting at the Old Mill appears dimmer than expected, the City is working with the lighting specialists to upgrade specifications to ensure it shines brighter for all to enjoy for next year.
Residents can still see the festoon lighting in the smaller pine tree at the Coode Street jetty.
The new city-wide uplighting will be available year-round and include different phase colour staging to recognise and celebrate significant dates and events.
