New artwork unveiled at Manning Library celebrates ‘Wonders Inside’
Manning Library welcomes a captivating new public artwork by local artist and children’s book illustrator Chris Nixon.
The 'Wonders Inside' digital glass mural aims to ignite the imagination and transport viewers to fantastical realms through storytelling.
The artwork draws inspiration from the library itself, featuring whimsically stacked shelves brought to life through intricate patterns, forms and textures.
The mural, which is installed at the southern entrance of Manning Library enriches the library's aesthetic and cultural landscape, in line with our Public Art Masterplan.
While admiring the mural, visitors to the library can also explore a special table showcasing children’s books beautifully illustrated by Chris Nixon. Titles include beloved stories like Meet Captain Cook, The Bushfire Book, Leo and the Octopus, Crocodile Cake and Pandamonia. Borrow these books from the library to take the magic of Nixon's illustrations home.
