Paint My Village youth mural project kicks off with free arts workshops
The City of South Perth is calling all young people to help design and paint a new public art mural at local shopping centre Village Green this winter. The project will be guided by experienced local artist Mikaela Miller who has exhibited in across Perth (Boorloo), Fremantle (Walyallup), Kalgoorlie, Dwellingup and Collie.
The City will be hosting two interactive sessions where Mikaela will work with young people to design the new mural; then, volunteers will paint the mural at the Village Green site in late August. All young people are welcome to attend.
This project has been made possible thanks to Propel Youth Arts WA.
Mural design workshops
Workshop One: Wednesday 17 July, 5.30–7pm at George Burnett Leisure Centre
Workshop Two: Saturday 20 July, 2–4pm at South Perth Library
