At the Ordinary Council Meeting Council held in December 2016, confidential legal advice was considered regarding the decision made by the JDAP to approve a development at 74 Mill Point Road.

On 14 February 2017, the City of South Perth was informed that Finbar Group Limited had decided to discontinue marketing the Civic Heart project in South Perth in its approved form.
Manning Skate Park upgrade
A new large shade structure is currently being installed at Manning Skate Park.
Road rehabilitation works on Waterford Avenue
The City will be undertaking road rehabilitation works along Waterford Avenue between Manning Road and Mullingar Close.
Stormwater drainage upgrade on Anstey Street
Drainage works will be carried out along Anstey Street from the week commencing 27th February 2017.
