Schedule

From 5pm: Pre-show entertainment including children's activities and rides, cultural immersions, roving entertainment and gourmet food trucks

5.15pm: Master of Ceremonies' Welcome, Welcome to Country and Mayor's Welcome.

5.30 - 6pm: First Supporting Act – Bojesse

Bojesse is a 23 year old singer/songwriter from West Australia growing up between his hometowns Broome and Perth. Bojesse was raised in a musically rich family, and despite the “family business” it wasn’t until age 16 that Bojesse turned to music as an outlet for the “typical emotional rollercoaster that is adolescence”.

Drawing from artists such as John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Jon Bellion, Bojesse is currently developing his sound and diving deep into the realm of music production and song writing. 2017 marked a huge event where Bojesse made it to the live finals and top 12 of The Voice Australia finishing 11th overall. He walked away from the whole experience with his glass half full having learnt a lot about the engine that drives massive TV productions and all its workings.

In 2018 another learning experience presented for Bojesse relocating to Brisbane for music mentorship and in 2019 toured Bran Nue Dae, a musical play by Opera Australia. Currently Bojesse is continuing to write new music whilst performing at various venues and locations around WA.

6.15 - 6.45pm: Second Supporting Act – Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse

Six times winners, Indigenous Act of the Year at the West Australian Music Industry Awards, Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse use their music and performances to highlight one of the most beautiful and rare languages on the planet; the Noongar language of the southern corner of Western Australia.

Bringing ancient language, contemporary music, stunning vocals, poignant stories and guitar brilliance, Gina and Guy have made it their mission to become agitators for a hopeful future, by rewriting the script through song.

Since 2014, they have released four albums, two books, two works for the Perth Festival (Koorlangka and Koort) and an Opera (Koolbardi wer Wardong). They toured the UK in October and November and will be premiering their latest Opera, Wundig wer Wilura (commissioned by the West Australian Opera) in 2024.

Performing with the all-important blessings of Gina's elders and her community, this duo will leave you breathless. Visit their website to stay up-to-date with artist and listen to her latest music.

7-8pm: Act – Jem Cassar-Daley and band

As the enchanting siren of Australia's indie-pop realm, Jem Cassar-Daley has been a radiant fixture on the music stage since her debut in 2021.

Jem's magnetic stage presence, celestial vocals, and her ability to craft timeless songs have catapulted her to the forefront of the industry and earned her a constellation of nominations and awards, notably the prestigious title of NIMA New Talent of the Year in 2022 and the esteemed QMA Indigenous Artist of the Year also in 2022.

Jem's music has resonated far and wide, propelling her into the spotlight as she took center stage during Thelma Plum's national tour in 2022, graced five coveted showcases at The Great Escape in the UK in May 2023 and supporting Busby Marou's national tour in 2023. This year also saw her shine brightly as she wove her magic on Triple J's Like A Version.

Beyond her musical prowess, Jem stands as a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung woman, inheriting a legacy of storytelling that informs her artistry.

Don't miss the opportunity to witness this extraordinary talent in action at Sounds of Bunuru. Visit Jem's website to stay up-to-date with artist and listen to her latest music.
