NAIDOC Week 2018

8 - 15 July 2018

Arts & Culture Food & Drink Free Kids/Family Library Seniors Young people

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The City will celebrate NAIDOC Week from 8-15 July 2018, by partnering with community organisations and local Noongar community members to host a series of events including a flag raising ceremony and kids crafts.

The 2018 National NAIDOC Theme: Because of her, we can! will celebrate the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make - to our communities, our families, our rich history and to our nation.

As pillars of our society, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played – and continue to play - active and significant roles at the community, local, state and national levels.
