Presented by the City of South Perth and supported by Lotterywest, the Australia Day Celebration Zone returns to Sir James Mitchell Park with an extensive programme of events for the whole family.

Spanning over 10 hectares along the South Perth foreshore, the event features multiple areas with 100 free activities for all ages, food vendors and ample shade and picnic areas for families to enjoy.

New in 2017 are Archery Tag, Barrel Toss, the Maze Box, Tip A Doll, Jacobs Ladder and Spider Ball.

In the Art Tent kids have the opportunity to be inspired by what they love about Australia whilst decorating a kite or a paper umbrella, making a friendship bracelet, creating a beautiful sand art card or making an original fridge magnet.

The Big Top offers onstage entertainment with magicians, storytelling and dance. Roving entertainers and performers will add to the atmosphere of the day.

All activities in the Celebration Zone will wrap up at 7.30pm to allow you to find a spot to watch the City of Perth Skyworks fireworks display at 8pm.

Get social and share your best photos or videos with us. Simply tag the City on FacebookInstagram or Twitter using #discoversouthperth.

The event provides the opportunity to come together and enjoy Australia Day in a safe, alcohol and smoke free environment.
