Participants in this workshop will learn two exciting textile techniques, screen printing and natural dyeing. Starting with the preparation of the dye pots, students will develop four colours using locally sourced plants.
Fabric will be provided and shibori folding methods discussed so that the most stunning results can be achieved. Whilst the dye pots are bubbling, students will be introduced to the cut stencil method of screen printing (screens and fabric inks are provided). Repeating designs and layered multi-colour prints will be explored.
Bring only your inspiration and an apron, this school holiday special is not to be missed.
This workshops is part of the City’s Evolve. development program and runs alongside the Emerging Artist Award.Event contact
