Join us in celebrating reading across the nation and up in space! Activities, games and stories will follow.

Now in its 21st year, join the City of South Perth Libraries as we open our doors early at 8.45am ready to celebrate with a million kids reading across Australia at 9am (WST) for National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).

National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book is read on the same day at the same time across Australia in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places.

This year the story will be read by Astronaut Shannon Walker from the International Space Station. The book, Give Me Some Space by Philip Bunting is a delightful story about a little girl’s mission to discover life in space.
