BYO glass of wine and join the City of South Perth Libraries for the latest ONLINE Words with Wine event. Author Imbi Neeme will be logging on to chat blogging vs writing, her PhD novel The Spill and what it is like to enter and win the Penguin Literary Prize.
About the Author
Imbi Neeme is a recovering blogger, novelist and compulsive short story writer, whose writing holds a toothpaste-smeared mirror up to her life. She considers herself to be a ‘domestic mystery writer’, spanning everything from ‘Who left the milk out?’ to the secrets we all keep, sometimes even from ourselves.
About the Book
Winner of the 2019 Penguin Literary Prize
In 1982, a car overturns on a remote West Australian road. Nobody is hurt, but the impact is felt for decades.
The Spill explores the cycles of love, loss and regret that can follow a family through the years – moments of joy, things left unsaid, and things misremembered. Above all, it is a deeply moving portrait of two sisters falling apart and finding a way to fit back together.
About Words with Wine
Words with Wine is a regular event held at the City's libraries where attendees listen to a published author speak about their work and read an excerpt or two. Most authors will share some information about their writing process, how and why they came to write their featured prose or poetry and they may share some interesting or entertaining related trivia. We aim to offer a blend of established and emerging authors in this series.
For this online version, we invite you to BYO wine and cheese and click into the LIVE event using the link we will send you once you have registered.
