Celebrate history and change during this year’s Australian Heritage Festival

The City of South Perth will take a trip down memory lane as the Australian Heritage Festival returns from 18 April to 18 May. 

This year’s festival, run by the National Trust, highlights the evolving story of the nation with the theme Change – how has history changed us and how are we changing history. 

The City will present a diverse program of events that will bring history to life. Highlights include the Change Exhibition at the City of South Perth Historical Society, which will run from 18 April to 12 July.  

Marking ANZAC Day, the Historical Voices author talk (22 April) will feature Emily Paull and Melinda Tognini, who will share powerful stories of war, resilience and community. 

Residents can also explore their own roots through the Uncover the Facts family history workshop (30 April), offering practical research tools and insights. 

Accessible and community-focused, the festival encourages locals to connect with the past while shaping the future. Bookings are essential for select events.
