2025/26 Christmas-New Year rubbish collection and opening hours

Opening hours for the City's Civic Centre and many other facilities will change during the Christmas-New Year period. 

Wednesday 24 December 2025: The Civic Centre will close at 3pm and remain closed until Monday 5 January 2026, when normal hours will resume.

Rubbish and recycling collection

There will be no collections on 25 December and 1 January. Bins normally collected Thursday will be collected Friday and Friday collections will shift to Saturday over the Christmas and New Year period. 

Recycling Centre including Reuse Shop and Container for Change Drop & Go Point 

The Recycling Centre will be open from 8am–12pm on Wednesday 24 December and will close from Christmas Day until Thursday 1 January. Normal hours will resume from Friday 2 January 2026.

South Perth and Manning Library 

South Perth Library will close from Thursday 18 December 2025 to Monday 5 January 2026. The library will be undergoing a fresh new upgrade during this closure period, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to a smoother, more modern experience. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday 6 January 2026. 

Manning Library will close from Wednesday 24 December at 2pm to Sunday 4 January 2026. Normal hours will resume from Monday 5 January.
