City’s draft Heritage List moves forward

Council resolved at its August 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting to advertise a draft Heritage List. 

Containing significant landmarks like the Narrows Bridge, Como Theatre and the Windsor Hotel, the draft Heritage List includes historical sites that are worthy of conservation. If adopted, the List will give statutory protection to those places.  

Inclusion on the City’s Heritage List means a development application will be required to make changes to the property. 

The draft Heritage List was informed by the recently adopted Local Heritage Survey. All local governments are required to establish and maintain a Heritage List. 

The draft Heritage List will be advertised from 1–25 September 2025 and property owners and occupiers will be contacted for feedback.
