Night works

To avoid major disruption of high-volume day-time traffic, some elements of the works will be completed at night. These works are scheduled for 30 May – 2 June 2022 and 13 – 14 June 2022. Be aware these dates will change in the event of unsuitable weather or other issues outside of our control. Working hours at night will be confined to 7pm to 5am.

Activities taking place at night include:
  • Milling (removing) of the existing road surfacing,
  • Road resurfacing with new asphalt

Road resurfacing

Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties may be impacted.

Traffic management

Temporary lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.

Noise management

Equipment and vehicle movements may create noise for adjacent residents. To minimise disturbance to residents, an out-of-hours Noise Management Plan has been prepared by the head contractor, West Coast Profilers, and approved by the City of South Perth.

Reticulation

The works may involve the removal and replacement of minor kerbing. If you have reticulation on the kerb line it will be temporarily cut, capped and relocated away from the kerb. A notice will be placed in your letterbox advising once your reticulation has been re-instated. We request that you test your system within two weeks of the notice. If issues present, please notify the City as soon as possible. After this period, the City will not take responsibility for repairs.

Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works, our staff and contractors will make every effort to reduce any inconvenience.
