Invitation for feedback from the community about disability access and inclusion
What is the DAIP all about? It outlines the ways in which the City is working to create a community which is accessible to everyone including people with disabilities.
The DAIP sets out the City’s commitment to making the community a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone to enjoy, with a particular focus on positive outcomes for people with disability and people with access and inclusion requirements such as young parents, the elderly and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
“It is important that the City of South Perth develops and implements a plan that will support everyone in the community, to participate and be included in the life of the City,” Mayor Sue Doherty said.
“We need your feedback to help us improve access to the City’s services and facilities, and to bring our attention to emerging issues for people with disability and access and inclusion needs.”
The City is fortunate to have a voluntary Reference Group, the Inclusive Community Advisory Group which informs the DAIP and is particularly active working in the City assisting in planning activities such as Disability Access Week.
Community feedback is sought through an online and hardcopy survey. If you need assistance or would prefer to complete the survey by phone or email, contact the City on 9474 0777, email firstname.lastname@example.org or get in touch with the City via the National Relay Service on 13 36 77.
To complete the survey online, visit the City’s Your Say South Perth community engagement portal at yoursay.southperth.wa.gov.au.
Hard copies of the survey are available to view during business hours at the Civic Centre, Cnr Sandgate St and South Tce, South Perth, City Libraries and the City's website.
Feedback closes 5pm, Friday, 26 August 2016.
