Local government ordinary elections are held every two years on the third Saturday in October. The last local government elections were held on 19 October 2019.

Moresby Ward extraordinary election

An extraordinary election will be conducted on 28 February 2020 for one Moresby Ward Councillor as a result of the election of Greg Milner as Mayor in the October 2019 elections. The term is two years ending October 2021.

To be eligible to vote in Local Government elections, you must be registered on the electoral roll as a resident or on the City of South Perth Non-Resident Owners and Occupiers Roll. Residents and business owners in the Moresby Ward who are not currently on the electoral role are encouraged to register by 9 January 2020 to be eligible to vote in the upcoming extraordinary election.

Nominate as a candidate

Nominations for Moresby Ward candidates open Wednesday 15 January and close 4pm, Wednesday 22 January 2020.

Ballot papers

Registered electors in the Moresby Ward should expect to receive their ballot papers in the week commencing 30 January 2020.

Removal of address from the roll

The state electoral roll and owner and occupier roll are publicly available for inspection. If you are of the opinion that the publication of your address would place your safety, or the safety of your family, at risk you can apply to have your address removed from the roll.

If you are enrolled on the state electoral roll, you can make a claim under s51B of the Electoral Act 1907. Fill out the Application for Removal of Address from State Electoral Roll form and send it to:
